Welcome to the Woodbine Book Club!
If you love to read and have enlightening discussions with a great group of people, then the Woodbine Book Club is for you. This is meant to be FUN, not like adult homework.
General Information:
- The goal of the Woodbine Book Club is to read interesting books, have great conversations and meet wonderful neighbors.
- Book club members will sign up to bring either a beverage or appetizer. There will soon be an area on the website to sign up.
- Book club members will take turns hosting meetings. The host is responsible for bringing all the papergoods. Also, if the host is comfortable they will lead the discussion. If you are not comfortable leading the discussion someone else will do it.
- All meetings will be at the new club house unless otherwise posted.
- Each member needs to bring $1 to each meeting for the cost of the use of the club house
- Discussions will cover: that author’s biography, plot, implications of the book, setting, historical data, theme and each member’s emotional response to the book.
- There will be 4 star rating systems for the books we read. One star, not so great a read up to 4 stars, would definitely recommend this book.
- Book selections will be announced at each meeting, posted on the Woodbine Book Club web site and in the Woodbine newsletter. Book selections will come from book suggestions from the book club members.
- All genres of books are open for suggestion to the book club.
- The book club is always open to new members. If there is a month or book selection that doesn’t work for you it is okay to skip a month or read.
